Construction & Road Closures Advisory

Road and building construction near the Morrison Center has made getting to the facility difficult. Please read this to plan your route.

The Theatre Arts Department is housed in the Morrison Center for the Performing Arts, one of the finest performance facilities in the United States. Situated on the banks of the beautiful Boise River near downtown Boise, the Morrison Center greatly enhances the cultural life of Boise, Boise State University and the State of Idaho. It includes a 2,000-seat main hall used by Boise State performing arts departments, touring groups and local arts organizations such as the Boise Opera, Boise Philharmonic and the Trey McIntyre Project.

In addition to the main performance hall, the Morrison Center features many spaces specially designed for teaching and studying theatre, including a 200-seat flexible black box theatre known as The Danny Peterson Theatre; a large acting/dancing studio named Theatre Lab; and a special classroom for design courses. A large, well-equipped scene shop and costume shop are located in our Theatre Arts Annex near the Morrison Center.

The Theatre Department also has access to the Student Union Special Events Center, a 400-seat proscenium theater. All performance spaces have computerized lighting boards and state of the art sound equipment.
